Logs

Our uniform and natural logs are used in residential and commercial work alike, and they are known for a hand-peeled finish and long length capability.

Natural logs

The log as it grew, peeled by hand. Taper and character stay in.

Uniform logs

Turned to one diameter end to end, then peeled by hand for the finish.

  • Hand-peeled finish. Natural and uniform logs are hand-peeled as standard. Uniform logs can also be smooth, up to 13 inches.
  • Long length capability. We can produce logs up to 50 feet long, if material is available.
  • Appearance grade as standard. Structural grading on request. How grading works

At the mill

Raw cedar logs on our deck, bark on, ready to be milled.

A uniform log, hand formed

A large-diameter cedar log, 40 feet long, worked to one round diameter end to end.

Special cuts

Douglas fir D-log material, sawn flat with the bark left on.

A natural log post, peeled by hand, its knots and grain left showing.

End notch

A round post end notched to take a header.

Deck replacement

Natural log posts and log beams carrying a new deck. The decking is redwood.
