CALC-IT companion
CALC-IT calculator
Choose Standard for numbers or Feet & inches for measurements. Each mode keeps its own calculation and memory, synced with the same mode in your other CALC-IT tabs. In builder mode, Use total applies a result to a tool field.
Feet, inches & fractions
A measurement calculator for feet, inches and fractions. Completed results sync with the same mode in your other CALC-IT tabs.
Calculation tape (0 steps)
Calculation tape
0 stepsAdds and subtracts lengths. Multiplies and divides by plain numbers. Operations run in the order entered.
Your entries and operations will appear here as you calculate.
How to use this calculator & worked example
- Tap 6 → Feet → 7 → 1/2 → Inches → +.
- Tap 3 → Feet → 2 → 5/8 → Inches → =. The result is 9' 10 1/8", with both measurements in the tape.
- For another dimension, tap + or −, enter it, then =. To scale the result, tap × or ÷ and enter a plain number.
- Use Edit to correct a step, CE to clear an entry, or AC to start over. After =, typing a new value starts a new calculation; tapping an operator continues from the result.
Memory: keep one value while calculating another
Tap M to open memory controls. MS stores the current entry, or the result if the entry is empty. M+ adds it to memory; M− subtracts it. MR recalls the stored measurement into the entry; press = to use it. MC clears memory. AC and CE keep memory. Memory holds measurements, so recall with + or −; enter a plain number for × or ÷.
- Enter 37 → Feet → 1 → Inches, then M → MS. Memory shows 37' 1".
- Tap AC. Enter 25 → Feet → × → 7 → =. The result is 175' 0"; memory still holds 37' 1".
- Tap M → M+. Memory becomes 212' 1", while the result stays 175' 0".
- Tap AC → M → MR → = to bring back 212' 1". Use total applies it to a tool field. Tap M → MC when finished.
Without Feet, 25 × 7 gives 175 inches (14' 7"). Decimal inches and feet appear under the result; fractions stay exact in the calculation and memory. The tape and memory save in this browser and sync between CALC-IT tabs. Applied tool values change only when you choose Use total.
Standard numbers
A normal calculator for numbers, decimals and fractions. Completed results sync with the same mode in your other CALC-IT tabs.
Calculation tape (0 steps)
Calculation tape
0 stepsCalculates with standard numbers. No length units are applied. Operations run in the order entered.
Your entries and operations will appear here as you calculate.
How to use this calculator & worked example
- Choose Standard. Enter a number with the keypad or type decimals, signed numbers or fractions.
- Tap +, −, × or ÷, enter the next number, then =. Calculations run in the order entered. Use ± to change an entry’s sign. For + or −, % calculates a percentage of the running total; otherwise it divides the entry by 100.
- CE clears the entry; AC clears the calculation. Both keep memory. Tap M for MS (store), MR (recall), M+ (add), M− (subtract), or MC (clear memory).
- Switch to Feet & inches for measurements. Each mode keeps its own tape, entry and memory; numbers are not converted into lengths.
Worked example: 25 × 7 = 175
Tap 2 → 5 → × → 7 → =. The result is 175, with no units. For a percentage, 200 → × → 10 → % → = gives 20. 1/3 + 1/6 = 0.5; fractions are calculated exactly.
Square root and fractions
Enter 81 → √ to get 9. You can also tap √ after = to take the square root of the displayed result. With a pending operation, √ calculates the current entry and finishes that step. Negative values produce an error and keep your calculation. Perfect square roots remain exact; other roots are rounded to 12 decimal places, marked ≈, and use that rounded value in later calculations and memory.
The Fraction key (previously labeled a/b) enters the slash: 1 → Fraction → 2 gives 1/2. Use ÷ for division. For a mixed fraction, type 2 1/2 or tap 2 → 1/2.
Memory example
Enter 37.1 → M → MS → AC. Calculate 25 × 7 = 175, then tap M → M+. Memory becomes 212.1. Tap AC → M → MR → = to bring it back. Standard memory and builder memory stay separate and sync with the matching mode in your other CALC-IT tabs. Decimal results display up to 12 places; the exact fraction is shown when needed.
